Our “Free” checking account has no balance requirement, no monthly maintenance fee, or per item charges, and has a $500 Overdraft Privilege*, if you so desire.
Interest Bearing NOW Account
Our NOW account pays a competitive rate of interest, providing a $600 average daily balance is maintained. It also has a $500 Overdraft Privilege*, if you so desire. No interest will be credited if your average daily balance falls below $600 and you will be assessed a $4.00 maintenance charge plus $.25 for each debit (excluding ATM or Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions).
Interest Bearing Super NOW Account
Our Super NOW account is a high yield checking account. To earn the Super NOW account interest rate on this account an average daily balance of $1,000 must be maintained. It also has a $500 Overdraft Privilege*, if you so desire. If your average daily balance for the month is between $600 and $1,000, you earn interest at the NOW Account rate. If your average daily balance falls below $600, no interest will be credited and you will be assessed a $4.00 maintenance charge plus $.25 for each debit (excluding ATM or Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions).
Prime of Your Life Checking
For our “Prime of Your Life” checking account, there is no service charge or balance requirement associated with this account. You must be 55 years of age, or older, to qualify for this account. This account pays a competitive rate of interest, providing a $1,000.00 average daily balance is maintained. It also has a $500 Overdraft Privilege*, if you so desire. Additional services tied to "Prime of Your Life" Checking Accounts include:
- No ATM transaction fees in the STAR ATM Network
- No fee Farmers and Merchants Bank VISA® Debit Card
- No charge on check orders of Greystone style checks for “Prime of Your Life” checking accounts. Alternatively, a $5.00 discount is available on all other check styles
- A $5.00 annual discount on any size Safe Deposit Box (subject to availability)
- No charge for Money Orders, Official Checks or Notary Services
- Direct deposit privileges
- $500 Overdraft Privilege*, if you so desire
*Overdraft Privilege Service - The current overdraft fee is $ 35.00 for each item presented, being a check, ACH Items, Pre-Authorized automatic transfers, telephone-initiated transfers, and any other electronic transfer. Consumers must repay or cover any overdraft every 30 calendar days, and the bank reserves the right to not pay items after 30 calendar days if an overdraft is unpaid and the service has been suspended.
